Catherine Leyshon writes short and shortish fiction from her Falmouth home. Widely published in the academic world, she has written short stories for several years but has only recently turned to publishing them.
She is a contributor to two anthologies of short stories published by Cornwall Writers – Cornwall Secret and Hidden and Cornwall Beneath and Beyond. She read her Cornwall Secret and Hidden story The Triumph of Goliathia Tremayne as part of Gray Lightfoot’s Welcome to Cornwall at Penzance LitFest and at Kresen Kernow.
She has had a pleasing fistful of short stories published in a variety of outlets. In 2023, she was third in the Crossing the Tees short story competition and had two pieces longlisted in the Wildfire Flash Fiction competition (one highly commended). In 2024, she was longlisted in the Ink of Ages competition and selected for the Hysteria Anthology.
