About
Cornwall Writers is a community of writers based in Cornwall, networking with and supporting each other. We want to promote creative writing talent in Cornwall and make it easy for readers to find Cornish writers and books. We feature both classics, such as Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca, and new writers starting out on their publishing journey.
Our writing group began as just two people in 2017 and has since grown to over 250! Below you can see some of our writers working on their novels during National Novel Writing Month in November 2019.
Short Story Projects
We set up our first short story project in January 2019 to encourage and support new writers in Cornwall and help them get published.
Some of our writerly band have MAs in Creative Writing and helped us all to think about character, plot and style development. For others, it was the first time they’d received any feedback on their work. We were also grateful to Anne Rainbow, from Red Pen Editing, for her editing advice.
We published our first anthology, Cornwall Misfits, Curiosities and Legends in September 2020 and we have been utterly stoked by the positive response it has received.
Our second anthology, Cornwall Secret and Hidden, was published on 10 June 2022 and was even more successful.

Cornwall Writing Group
