Ella Walsworth-Bell is an NHS speech therapist working in children’s mental health and living in Cornwall. She started writing when she took an adult education evening class in creative writing and hasn’t looked back since. Her short stories have been published in People’s Friend, Dawntreader, Mythic Circle, Paperbound. She won Creative Cultures South West short story competition and came second in the Perito Prize.
Ella was commissioned by Apples and Snakes in collaboration with Trinity House Bristol to write and create a poetry film for climate change. Her poetry has been published in Leon Literary Review, Public Sector Poetry, New Ulster, Wavelength. Combining poetry and the sea came in 2021-2024 when she set up Mor Poets, a women’s poetry collective that created Morvoren: the poetry of sea swimming. She has run poetry workshops in schools, on the beach (with a sea swim, naturally), with yoga, on a boat, on islands and as a partner with Writers Block.
