Spirit of Cornwall exhibition
Dates: 10 October 2023 – 20 January 2024
Location: Royal Cornwall Museum
Cornwall Writers are excited to have a short story from Cornwall Misfits, Curiosities and Legends in the exhibition – There is Copper in Abundance by Ulrike Duran plus artwork by one of our anthology authors Stephen Baird
Culturally distinctive and non-conforming, Cornwall has long-maintained its reputation as a centre for arts and creative practice and a retreat for artists and creatives. Wild coastlines, moors, mythology, resourceful and rebellious, Truro Open: Spirit of Cornwall encompasses all of Cornwall and those who live in it today.
Truro Open is Royal Cornwall Museum’s first open exhibition showcasing the work of artists and creatives living in Cornwall. Opening on 10 October until 20 January 2024, this exhibition will celebrate works made recently or in years gone by, expressing the Spirit of Cornwall.
Check out the catalogue at digital Truro Open Label leaflet during your visit.
All work is automatically entered into the prize-winning categories:
- People’s Choice
- Panel’s Selection
- Emerging Artist (for those aged 16 – 25).
On 9 December, 5-8pm, there will also be a Spirit of Cornwall celebration event at the museum to announce the prize winners and more.
