Judith Lea and Philip Elliott are the co-author’s of “It started with a Kiss in the magical land of Cornwall”, their autobiographical first book. They currently reside in the historic market town of Congleton, Cheshire caring for family members.
Judith has been an avid book reader all her life. She is a people watcher, listener and keeper of secrets, who would like to live in a utopian world full of kindness. Having worked within a financial environment most of her life, writing this autobiography has fed her soul. Her childhood dream was to become a rock star! In 1982, following heart surgery on her 7 year old son, she took the brave decision to leave the Northern rat race behind and moved her family, lock stock and barrel, to Cornwall to begin a new more fulfilling life.
Philip, on the other hand, was a perfect match for Cornish life, being so laid back he almost led his life horizontally. He met his “ex” whilst studying Teacher Training at the College of St. Mark & St John, Plymouth, before moving to Cornwall to marry her. For two years he worked in the family business before joining South Western Electricity Board in 1978 where he worked for 24 years. A further 22 years working for Greater Manchester Police followed before retiring in December 2020.
Both believe Destiny used the Magic of Cornwall to bring them together; they lived a wonderfully happy life enjoying the natural beauty of the county, it’s ‘Dreckly’ lifestyle, becoming members of the Minack Theatre, sailing Osprey’s in Mount’s Bay, and supporting local rock bands, something they continue to do, regularly attending gigs and festivals. Sadly life was interrupted by addiction and mental health before eventually the ill health of family members caused a relocation back to Cheshire.
