Duchy of Cornwall Nursery is one of the largest and well-respected nurseries in the South West: a place of sanctuary for visitors, where horticulture is celebrated, and nature allowed to flourish.
The Glasshouse is filled with the most comprehensive and stunning collection of houseplants in the South West. It also contains the Garden Room, where you can dine as a group surrounded by exotic plants and natural light. The Bumblebee Garden shows how to create a beautiful garden providing the perfect habitat for our declining bumblebee population. The planted Play Garden is ideal for fun times with small children, with traditional toys waiting to be played with in the Cornish shepherd hut. Their award-winning Cafe has a wonderful view of Restormel Castle and food is sourced locally.
The Duchy Nursery shop sells a huge variety of interiors, gifts and homewares as well as children’s toys, clothing, pots and artisan gardening accessories. Discover local and sustainable products you won’t find on the high street. We feel very honoured that our anthology, Cornwall Secret and Hidden is stocked and selling well there.
The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery is at the heart of the Duchy of Cornwall. The private estate was established by Edward III in 1337 for his son and heir, Prince Edward. A charter ruled that the eldest surviving son of the Monarch and heir to the throne would be Duke of Cornwall. Revenue from The Duchy Estate is used to fund the public, private and charitable activities of the Duke and his family.
The 24th Duke of Cornwall was well-known for his interest in the environment and sustainability. The Nursery incorporates many of the Duke of Cornwall’s views. Using sustainable practices, these values are an integral part of what the Nursery stands for, making it a better place for one and all.
The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery is a small part of the Duchy, but it is very proud of its heritage. The Nursery is located at the heart of the Duchy estate and Restormel Castle can be seen from across the valley. Whether you’re a visitor on a Saturday morning, a member of staff or The Duke of Cornwall himself, our Nursery is a place for everyone.
