Bude Literary Festival

Bude Literary Festival starts on Wednesday 17th May with a festival warm up quiz and runs until Sunday 21st May for their main events (even extending to Monday 22nd May for a fabulous family fun community event). This year the festival office is based at Bude Library, where you can come along and talk to wonderful bookworm volunteers about what’s on, as well as buy tickets.

The three main venues are at The Castle Heritage Centre, Bude Library and The Parkhouse Community Centre, but this year the Festival has teamed up with local businesses in town to run even more events. North Coast Wine Lounge, The Falcon Hotel, House of Chaplin’s, The Barrel Pub, The Pearl Exchange and Ebbingford Manor will be taking part as well as a walk and talk in Stratton.

In addition to that, this year there is a fantastic school programme, that sees over 14 events with wonderful opportunities for the children to become immersed in the literary world, and meet some of their favourite authors.

That’s not all…….. there will be competitions for you to come and join in and win some prizes, so check out the full programme at What’s On to see where your next literary adventure will take you!

Last year was Bude’s first Literary Festival and hailed a huge success with more than 1,500 people participating over five days of events. The inaugural event, hosted by Bude-Stratton Town Council, saw some big literary names and acts visit Bude alongside a many local authors, musicians and performers and we’re pleased to say that there will be another exciting programme this year!
