Author Interview with Christopher Johnson

I have written 5 books of short stories set in Cornwall and recorded an audio book of 12 stories on CD and Memory stick.

I have lived in North Cornwall for 25 years.

• Q1 What are your favourite books?:

  All the Pretty Horses ( Cormack McCarthy ). Lies of Silence ( Brian Moore ). And the lyrics of Dylan and Tom Waits.

• Q2 What did you have for breakfast?:

  Coffee and cigarettes ( too busy writing )

• Q3 Your favourite genre?:

  Crime

• Q4 Your shoe size?:

  Size 8 ( both feet )

• Q5 Why do you write?:

  For pleasure and for the enjoyment of others.

• Q6 Did you enjoy english classes at school?:

  Yes

• Q7 What inspired your story?:

  Life itself, so many stories to capture

• Q8 If you were to write a fictional story about your life, would you make yourself a hero or a villain?:

  A hero. I'm a sucker for damsels in distress.

• Q9 Where do you write?:

  At home.

• Q10 What do you find inspiring about Cornwall?:

  The landscape, history and the people I meet.

• Q11 What do you love most about writing?:

  When I come up with a good line, twist or ending.

• Q12 How do you think Cornwall has shaped your writing?:

  The people I meet.

• Q13 What do you think influenced your latest story?:

  Life itself.

  Donald Duck

  Does it really matter?

• Q16 When did your love of writing start?:

  All my life. I worked as a copywriter.

• Q17 What advice would you give to a budding author?:

  Try to write with atmosphere

  No

• Q19 If you were an animal, what would you be and why?:

  A frog. Why not?

• Q20 Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what's getting your fingers moving at the mo?:

  No. I like silence.
