Although born in London, Daphne du Maurier spent most of her life in Cornwall. Many of her books are set in Cornwall, most famously Jamaica Inn, Frenchman’s Creek, Rebecca, My Cousin Rachel and House on the Strand. It is thought that du Maurier started writing when she first came to Cornwall.
