Join award winning author Naomi Jones and discover everything you need to know about writing picture books in this one day course. She will explain everything from where to begin to word count, format, characters and structure. Naomi will also draw on her eight years working in publishing for Penguin Random House and Hachette Children’s Books to enlighten writers about how the industry works and why market research is so important.
There will also be a chance to ask questions, write and play with new ideas and Naomi will finish by sharing tips for next steps. Writers will all receive printed notes. If you are currently working on a picture book manuscript and would like to bring a printed copy along, please do.
Naomi Jones is an award winning author whose books have been published in 19 languages. She spent eight years working for Penguin Random House and Hachette Children’s Books and has been an editor and mentor for Cornerstones, Jericho Writers and Write Mentor for six years.
