A 1970s and 80s childhood in Dobwalls, around and about which my Cornish ancestors had farmed and laboured for generations. A good solid education at Liskeard Comprehensive School. My first serious job supporting a Cornish Crime, Family and Childcare Solicitor with a heavy case load. Duty Solicitors Representative providing 24/7 legal support to suspects detained in police custody in South East Cornwall and beyond. Preparing Briefs for and sitting behind Counsel in the Crown Court and visiting clients detained at HMP Exeter & HMP Channings Wood. Sometime living and working in London, before returning to the South West. A rewarding 12 years as a full time Home Dad to our now 15 year old son. Currently living between our family home on Chichester Harbour and Leeds Castle in Kent where my wife is a change focused Chief Executive. I graduated this summer with a 1st in Politics and Contemporary History from the University of Chichester. Now focused on researching, for my first foray into book writing, the Porthpean Giffard family tragedy of the winter 0f 1952/3, a brutal double homicide that rocked the west country, a public school educated son who paid the ultimate penalty. 70 years later the question remains. Was or was not Miles Giffard insane?
